Troon can well be described as a golfer's paradise.
In the Burgh alone there are 5 golf courses with Royal Troon being
the most famous. Within a 20 mile radius though, there are a further
15 courses. You will find Royal Troon, Portland,
municipal courses including Lochgreen, Darley
and Fullarton within a 5 minute walk. Kilmarnock
Barassie is 1 mile with Western Gailes, Glasgow
Gailes and Irvine Bogside (all Open Championship
qualifying courses), approximately 7 miles away. Turnberry
is a pleasant 25 mile drive down the coast.
